Dragon Tablet Chapter 2

The next morning I was up at 9.30, the plan was to meet Kevin & Alan outside Burger King on King's Street around midday, which was fine by me as I could get a free lunch since my brother works in there.

I got out of bed headed straight for the bathroom and started running myself a small bath, heading through to the kitchen I made myself a honey roast ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast, and went for my bath.
I donned my clothes for the day of dark blue denim jeans and one of my funny white t-shirts that read "If Found Please Return To The Pub".

After I was dressed I took my dog for walk and did my house chores for the day, I didn't want an ear-bashing from mum later when she came home and nothing was done. By the time I was finished it had just gone half eleven, I picked up my wallet, mobile and keys and headed out the door.

The walk into town only took fifteen minutes, I made a quick stop at an ATM and withdrew some cash and made my way over to the Burger King restaurant on Kings Street while I waited for Alan and Kevin to show.
I went in and made my up to the counter where my brother Calum waiting to serve customers. He greeted me in his usual manner as I walked up to the counter.

"What you doing here?"

"College project and while I'm waiting on two of my class mates I thought I'd get some lunch if you don't mind" I said

"Can't give you it for nothin today." He said

"Why not?" Pretending to sound upset

"We have the area manager in today. Can still give you the staff plus your student discount though"

"Better than nothin I suppose" I said "Alright then I'll have a Bacon Double Cheese Burger Meal please, make it large fries and large coke"

"Sure." He said putting my order though and taking off the discounts "£3.45 please"

"There's a fiver" I said handing it over and receiving my change. I stepped to the side while I waited for my order, while my brother started serving another customer. Couple of minutes later my brother gave me my order and I went upstairs and grabbed a table to eat my lunch. I pulled out my mobile and sent Kevin and Alan a text message letting them know where I was and to meet me here.

Ten minutes later just as I was finishing up Kev and Alan arrived and took the seats opposite me.

"Alright guys whats happenin?" I said

"No much, you all set for the day?" Kevin said

I grinned and said "Nope no really, but let's just get it over and done with. It feels like it's gonna be a warm day and I fancy a cold pint when we've finished. Did you bring the video camera?"

"Yeah here it is" Alan said holding up a camera bag.

"Cool, then let's get going. Quicker we get our notes for the assessment quicker, the quicker we can all find a beer garden and enjoy a cold pint in the heat"

"You can, I'm off the drink remember" Alan said

"Sorry Alan totally forgot, your still up for a cold drink after we're done though?" I said

"Yeah sure, pint of orange juice with plenty of ice" he said

"Each to their own, you may not drink but I'll deff be game for a pint" Kevin chipped

"He he. Well what we waiting for let's get this show on the road." I said getting up and putting my rubbish in the bin.

I went downstairs and saw Calum coming towards me,

"Off on your lunch?" I said

"Nope that's me finished" Calum said

"Oh lucky you, where you off to now then?"

"I'm going home, then I'm getting a bus to Kirkie, gonna stay at dad's the night. He's gonna replace the screen in my laptop." He said

"How much is that costing you?"

"He only charging me £50"

"£50 that you could of spent on other things, Well I'll catch you the morra then, we gotta get going." I said and left, as my brother headed for the stairs to get ready to head home.

As we started the walk up towards Stirling Castle, Alan started making conversation

"Ere Sean what was all that about with your bothers laptop?"

I couldn't help but have a small laugh "two weeks ago, we both stayed at my dad's after spending the day the football. I got the main guest room, my brother got my step sisters room since she was staying at her boyfriends. Anyway my brother always parks his laptop on the edge of the bed when he's watching movies or streams, guessed he moved to get comfortable again, the next thing he knew his laptop rolled backwards off the edge of the bed and landed on the monitor first cracking the LCD screen."

"Wow, I guess he never had insurance on it?"

"He did but he cancelled the direct debit for some reason they won't touch it now" I said as we reached the top of the hill and walked up to the entrance of the castle.

"Right guys wait here a minute I'm gonna go and get the tickets and also book the tour."

"Aye nae worries" Kevin said.

I made my way over to the ticket office, got the tickets and also booked for the 1.15pm tour. I hooked back up with Kevin & Alan and we wondered round the castle's boundaries while we waited for the tour to start. It turned out to be a good idea to take the tour since we learned more about the Castle and its history than we would have done just walking around on our own. There were sections still closed off mainly due as the castle was still under restoration and wasn't due to be finished for another three and half years. But the guild gave a good description of what the closed sections were used for. Kevin not really liking taking notes, used Alan's camcorder and recorded the whole show, from the castles defences to the history of the "Great Hall" and its restoration from a regimental garrison, to the castles current restoration project of "The Palace"

We left the castle around half two that afternoon and made our way back down the steep streets back into town. We popped into Greggs for a stake-bake & bottle of Irn-bru, and headed to the bus station to catch a bus over to Bridge Of Allan. We arrived at the monument about 3pm and once again I went in to get the tickets.

"Right there's no shuttle bus service the day." I said as I left the visitor centre at the bottom of the Abbey Craig hill. "So were walking, and this is a climb" I said looking skywards to the top of the "Abbey Craig" where the Wallace Monument stood proudly built in its Victorian Gothic Style.

"Let's take the footpath, the road looks steeper than the footpath going up though the woods" Kevin said.

"Sure why not, though the footpath ain't cemented, if it weren't for the signs it would be just a walk up though the woods." Alan said

"Alright let's get going, I could already do with that cold pint as its absolutely roasting" I said.

And we set off up the hill, it took us about ten minutes to climb to the top of the Abbey Craig no thanks to the steepness. We went into the tower the receptionist stamped our tickets and gave us audio recordings device that gave you all the information on the history of William Wallace, people he worked with and the tower itself. We also took a few pictures from to very top of the tower the views were stunning, the city of Stirling surrounded by hills as far as the eye could see. Satisfied with the notes we had gathered we left the tower and started wondering around the top of the Abbey Craig admiring the views and taking a few photos.

"Hey Sean its almost half four, shall we get moving I'm dying for this pint, it roasting up here" Kevin called.

I was half way up another hill that runs off the Abbey Craig hill with Alan.

"Aye sure why not, we've got plenty of stuff to put in this assessment." I called back "What any of this had to do with computing is anyone's gu....Ahhhhh" My foot had went though the ground and I fell 20feet into an underground cavern.
Continuing the revisions to the story, Here's Chapter 2.

nice work Sean, but try and place verbs at the start of your sentances, and try using mor adjectives and variations of verbs.
